The Illusory Key

The path, the key, and all the barriers you believe you have to overcome are an illusion. You believe that, simply by having appeared in this world, you have an outstanding debt to repay. Your individual thought system says, “Wait, wait, I can’t leave without contributing something; I can’t leave everyone else behind.”

When that form of vanity is exhausted, the mind will rest in peace and quietly return. The path is a compassionate and elegant way of calming the mind by allowing it to repay its imaginary debt. That debt is the guilt it feels for believing in its own dispersion.

The path is the gift you give yourself. It is a key born of compassionate vanity.

Whatever you do, you will be essentially vain, so at least do it with its opposite: Love. Perhaps that is the only intelligent thing to do in an insane dream.

Whoever has released all attachment to illusion may return whenever they wish. They need only ask from the heart and trust completely.

You owe nothing to anyone, nor to this world.
You are here of your own free will.
You are free now and always.
You are the Christ, the Son of God.
