Free, I Want You Free

You do not have to respond the way you think you should, or the way you think would suit others, simply to remain faithful to the image of yourself you have chosen to present for so long. To hell with the chains!

You spend part of your time drawing boundaries in your mind around what you should be and what everything and everyone else should be. Accustomed to painting a limited world in muted colours that barely inspire anything.

Be glad when people surprise you or give you an answer you would never have expected. When they show you that your preconceptions are wrong. When what is alive proves itself alive. When they step beyond the boundaries because a jolt runs down their spine and, for an instant, they are themselves. When they forget the mask and simply are.

The world keeps turning in much the same way, predetermined, with dreary heaviness, leaving no room for anything new or spontaneous. You can stay on its wheel. You can remain a bore, a bland presence, a broken record, the same thing endlessly repeating. In short, a predefined reaction.

Or you can be what nobody expects, what takes no part in the madness, the absurdities, the hatred, or conflicts as insubstantial as this fleeting experience of life. You can be different from those who constantly point to a past as dead as the Middle Ages amid the AI revolution.

You can keep clinging to images that disappeared long ago and no longer have any relevance, or you can open yourself to what your freedom offers you in the present.

What might happen if you were yourself? Might they turn their backs on you? Might seeing you free reveal their own cage? Might they realise they are running out of air?

If you cannot be natural, you become a tedious puppet moved by the strings of your conditioning to fit into a broken, fragmented world devoid of purpose and meaning.

Freedom means that, in many cases, others will be unable to anticipate your responses, because there will always be room within you for the new and the unexpected. And they may fear it, not because it need be harmful, but because they may be unprepared for things that transcend the limits they have always known.
