Just a Little

Inner liberation eventually brings about a series of welcome effects. Yet pursuing those very effects creates conditioning and bondage—the exact opposite of being free.

On the path to liberation, things begin to come your way when you stop depending on them and, therefore, when they no longer have power over you. Sometimes we can imagine what effects might accompany that liberation, and it would make sense for them to take the form of pure simplicity: I need very little, and I enjoy that little immensely.

A little time spent sharing. A dance of perfectly synchronised glances or words. Shared peace and a feeling of “I need absolutely nothing else at this very moment.”

A snapshot of Light. Two artists exchanging their respective works and marvelling at each other. A deep connection. What is mine is entirely yours, and what is yours is entirely mine. There are no borders between us, no war, no hint of competition, only dazzling moments shared.

Disengaging from all that is materially insubstantial and reconnecting with what is profoundly essential. The mind simply shifts from one place to another, and its system of values shifts with it. Through that change, it is freed from what has no value and rests in what holds Everything.
